On Monday, July 18. 2011 took place the tenth expedition in the frame of the Scientific and Awareness of biodiversity conservation in the Bay of Rodon. Local fishermen have caught this time twelve marine turtles with their nets “stavnik” located in outfall of Mat and Ishem River. During the ten expeditions to the project are caught, cleaned, studied and treated about 70 sea turtles.

In this expedition was evidenced a dead individual as a result of wounds it had received from a ship’s propellers. Other individuals were healthy. Eight of these turtles were caught in the estuary of the Ishem River and the rest were caught at outfall of Mat River.
From these turtles, seven individuals were adolescent females, two adult female and two male teenagers.

After the morphological control, it was observed that an individual resulted with an additional vertebral plate. To another individual were found deviations in Kostal tablets; it had two extra plates on each side. These plates were symmetrical, which is a phenomenon that has never been seen. There were noted, too, deviations in the number of marginal plates, where all individuals had an additional plaque on each side. In these turtles taken as a study was found mere ectoparasites, Balanus sp. After being cleared of parasites, the sea turtles were thrown into the water.
